Big Plans for 2012

It’s a New Year and we have some big plans we’d like to share! Stellar Blue’s 2011 was filled with growth and development as we worked on educating our community on mobile and search engine optimization tactics. This dedication has led us straight into the position of expanding our successes to provide more to our clients.

2011 Stellar Projects in Review

Many of the projects that are so important to us are mentioned in our blog, promoted on Facebook and are mentioned in the customer spotlight. This past year, Stellar Blue worked on a few other projects that don’t fall into our typical custom website design category. We wish to share some of our 2011 project with you in spirit and preparation for the New Year.

Stellar Projects in Review:

UWO Marketing Course: Stellar Blue has had the privilege the last few years to be a frequent guest speaker of the UW-Oshkosh College of Business Internet Marketing course led by Professor Dana Baumgart. This past Fall semester, Stellar Blue had the opportunity to do more!

With over eight months of preparation, Baumgart and Marketing Director Amanda and myself worked on the course’s concept: bring in a real-life client that is tangible and real to the more than 70 students. More importantly, a client that the students could relate to in order to make a full internet marketing campaign through use of social media and viral marketing. Stellar Blue presented to the class Tennies Jewelry, a locally owned jewelry store with a convenient location near campus. The students got to meet several Tennies employees as they developed, for over two months, specific marketing campaigns for the business.

Amanda and I had the pleasure over the semester to come into class to work, engage, and explore with students. We even had the chance to lead a class lecture on search engine optimization – a key component of the course. The project ended with group presentations in front of Amanda and myself as well as Becky, Karen and Brian of Tennies Jewelry.

All in all, the experience was exciting and educating for all involved!

Stellar Web Review: Stellar Blue devoted the past year educating and facilitating custom mobile development. In this progression, we had the opportunity to marry two of our services through the development and launch of our Stellar Web Review smartphone application (app). We view this app as a service to better a company’s internet marketing by allowing the monitoring of your website success in the palm of your hand.

The app allows you to check a website’s:
•    PageRank – the popularity grade given to a website that directly effects your search engine placement
•    Meta Data – the keywords that are being associated with your web pages
•    Page Titles – the title descriptions indexed by search engines that appear in search results

Mobile development and search engine optimization are not just trending topics but also a vital part of business success as we continue to become a technologically advanced society.
