Video Types for Your Marketing Needs
Only a decade ago video’s main marketing purpose was to promote products and services via commercials or product demos. Now video’s relationship with marketing has completely evolved into an interactive platform to not only promote a single product, but a brand as a whole. Videos are now broken up into genres, much like a book or magazine: comedy, viral, inspirational, how-to, promotional, etc. These genres help to launch ideas, services, and products to make the information much more accessible to online and cable users.
Stellar Blue, being your complete internet marketing firm, has taken this evolution of video marketing as a new component to make up a well-rounded internet marketing plan to optimize your company or organization.
Working closely with a local video production studio, Rock Garden Studios, Stellar Blue can make your video visions into a reality. Types of videos are endless: • Testimonials • Product Demo • Facility overview • Viral video • Employee Applications • And so much more
And how you can use the videos to promote your organization is even a longer list: • Website homepage intro • Website header • YouTube Channels • Facebook page Video • Internal marketing resources • Television commercials • And so on.
What type of video could you benefit from?

Creative Video Crossing Marketing Channels
The main benefit of video marketing is the visual aspect. Typically, individuals want the visual stimulation to make a connection between a product and how it affects others, works or handles or they simply want to be entertained. Video sharing platforms like YouTube are now second in the daily amount of searches – right behind Google. Companies are jumping on this opportunity by integrating traditional media such as TV commercials or branding taglines into a viral video format to be shared on YouTube.
This is the fun part.
Stellar Blue is bombarded by all the examples we could share, but we have selected two to review with you. Two that are current promotional campaigns that have crossed over into several different marketing formats – by using video alone.
First Example: Unilever (as known as Axe) Lynx Excite
Axe, known for men fragrances, has always branded their products with the use of women who cannot resist the scent of Axe. Whether you believe that or not is up to you, but Axe has definitely taken several creative initiatives to use video to get their product out there. Early this year, Unilever (Axe) announced a new scent, Lynx Excite, which allegedly makes angles fall from the sky just to smell those who wear the scent. So we first saw this product via traditional commercials or printing materials. Then in London, on March 5th, the brand created a guerrilla marketing campaign through the use of augmented reality. You have to check out the video to understand:

Not only did this event generate a few thousand participates that will knowingly tell all their friends, they also created a video that is generating even more publicity on YouTube. (Heck, we just shared it with you and you might share it with your co-workers).
The Lynx Excite product took their video even to the next level by incorporating a plug for their Facebook page at the end. No doubt that this video will generate a few more ‘likers’ for their fallen angels.
Second Example: Logitech Revue/Google TV
“My wife says if I watch any more Kevin Bacon movies, I might just turn into Kevin Bacon.”
Sound familiar? This ad has been running for several months as a standard commercial for the Logitech/Google TV product. Kevin Bacon’s #1 one fan, Ivan Cobenk played by Kevin Bacon, is a great example of a comedy video that has generated popularity through a less than humbling parody. Logitech Revue allows you “Get Into What You’re Into.”
The popularity of this commercial grew so much that the company decided to release an extended cut of the filming experience on YouTube. In a little over a month, the extended cut had approximately 61,000 views and now is reaching 81,000.

Knowing that video generates followers and shares, Logitech strategically linked the last scene of the video to their blog based website (http://blog.logitech.com/revue/), to link up their online marketing initiatives.
Video is fun, informative, viral, shareable. Video is what you make it. You don’t need a large marketing budget to make this happen – you just need an idea. Contact Stellar Blue at info@stellarbluewebdesign.com or (920) 905-0250 today to discuss your video potential.
