Stellar Blue Welcomes Kristie Alsteen-Greenwood to Our Crew!

I am honored to introduce myself as Stellar Blue’s new programming assistant. This is my first job in the Web Development field and I’m very excited to have been given such a great opportunity.

My interest in Web Development started as a hobby. While playing browser-based, multiplayer online game, I wanted to come up with a program to increase the efficiency of the team I was on. At that time I had no idea how to even write a simple html page. A fellow player employed in the web development profession gave me some idea of what would be involved. I checked out books on HTML, PHP and MySQL from the library and built the system as I read the books. I soon discovered that I really enjoyed Web Development, and enrolled at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for my associate’s degree in IT-Web Development and Design Specialist. I graduated with honors in May 2012.

While a student I gained experience with PHP, SQL, CSS, HTML and JavaScript/jQuery, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. Web development is an area that will never stop evolving. To me, being a good programmer means I must continue to learn and evolve with my career so that I will remain a fresh asset to the company. I’m excited to now have the opportunity to use my knowledge in my career at Stellar Blue Web Design.

When I’m not working I enjoy camping, traveling, and taking bike rides with my husband, son and daughter. My hobbies include drawing and photography. I often have my camera in my pocket prepared to capture a special moment in time, if it arises.
